Wheelchairs Lifts

Wheelchair lifts were not too common many years ago, but they now can be found in many different places. They are being utilized by more people than ever. This has led to an increased capability for the disableed to move around and have access to the same range of public accommodations as the abled.

Wheelchair lifts can now be found in any of the following places:

• Vans – One of the things most people who are in wheelchairs appreciate more than anything is being able to travel. Even if they are unable to drive, it is important for them to be able to get out of the house and do things just as everyone else does. There are vans that can be custom designed to be wheelchair accessible by installing wheelchair lifts are installed either in the back or by the side door.

• Buses – Many buses also now have wheelchair lifts on specially designed buses in order to be able to accommodate a larger part of the population. Because not everybody has private transportation, it is important to maintain this public transportation option.

• Buildings – In old buildings where there are only stairs and no elevators, there are sometimes special lifts for wheelchairs that transport the wheelchair and its occupant from one floor to the next.
